HOW OFTEN HAVE YOU DREAMT OF VISITING THESE PLACES?

Travelling around the world is one of the most recurrent dreams that people have. We all picture ourselves exploring exotic locations with a backpack on our shoulders, with our only concern being where our journey will take us. Although you may think there are no corners of the world that remain untouched by mass tourism, it is still possible to find a few virtually unexplored areas. And we're going to tell you everything you need to know about how to prepare for your next unforgettable holiday, with the following 6 tropical destinations you should not miss out on. Let's travel!

1. Mauritius

It's an insular country situated right in the middle of the Indian Ocean, around 900 kilometres from the closest big city. That sounds appealing, right? If you are looking for an exotic location which is far removed from traditional everyday life, this is your spot. The countless miles of white sand beaches and turquoise blue waters are the main selling-points for the island's visitors. But Mauritius Island has far more to offer: few places provide as great windsurfing and kitesurfing conditions as here. The marine biodiversity is one of the richest on the planet and deep-sea fishing is a favourite among locals and visitors alike.

Must-see locations in your traveller's guide should include Belle Mare, Mont Choisy or Le Morne Brabant. But a very different place is the "deer island": Iles aux Cerfs. It is considered to be the best beach in the country and its blue waters have something about them that mesmerize anyone who swims in the crystalline waves. Book your tickets now, get your camera ready and prepare to make your friends die of envy on Instagram!

 2. Malaysia

They say there is no place in the world where the sun shines in quite the same way as in Malaysia. It's true the sun shines there, and how, during the dry season. But the thing that shines most in this country is its impressive array of tropical islands. There are hundreds of them in Malaysia. Some are totally uninhabited and hardly touched by tourism, which makes them all the more attractive.  What's more, the seafloor along the coastline is one of the richest in the world, which means diving is an absolute must.

Make sure you include visits to such islands as Rawa, Bukit Tinggi, Kapas or Pulau Tengah. They are authentic havens of peace where your only job is to make sure you go swimming with reef sharks, feel the cool breeze whilst enjoying the crystalline waters, and wear your new pair of flip flops, of course!

3. Panama

We simply had to include a location which boasts coastlines along both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. Indeed, Panama is one of these treasures of nature where there is still so much left to be discovered. The country's warm and humid climate coupled with its imposing beaches of fine sand and warm waters make it a must-visit destination on any decent travel list. Don't be fooled: this is not your typical drop in the sand and laze about in the sun type of place, although you could certainly do so if you wish. Some of the beaches there are amazing for surfing, while others are surrounded by deep tropical jungle, but at all of them are perfect to observe some of the planet's richest marine fauna. Don't miss out on Coiba Island, San Blas Islands, Zapatilla Cay and Playa Langosta (Langosta Beach).

4. French Polynesia

Have you ever heard of Tahiti or Bora Bora? French Polynesia and its 118 islands is one of the most impressive places on Earth. Bora Bora is a small island surrounded by a turquoise blue lagoon that would have you fooled into believing you were in heaven. The Marquesas Islands are a perfect archipelago to go exploring deep jungle territory, to discover impressive waterfalls and hidden bays where you can have a personal paradise all to yourself.

The warm waters of French Polynesia have an impressive array of marine wildlife. If you love larger marine creatures, this will be your favourite spot in the world. You'll be able to go diving with grey reef sharks, stingrays, bottlenose dolphins and hammerhead sharks. On the surface, it's also common to see humpback wales mating. So get your backpack loaded, put your flip-flops on and get ready to become an intrepid adventurer.

5. Zanzibar

If you are looking for a place to enjoy endless white sand beaches, to immerse yourself in local culture, in little fishing villages and to be the most eclectic traveller within your group of friends, this is where you need to go! Unguja, also known as Zanzibar, is the biggest of the islands of the Zanzibar archipelago. From there, you will discover amazing treasures of nature such as Changuu Island, the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park or Mnemba Atoll. The slow pace of life and incredible landscapes will ensure you lose track of time and only remember to enjoy this beautiful corner of the world.

6. Maldives

We have told you lots about white sand beaches and crystalline waters. But the icing on the cake was still to come: we couldn't go without telling you about the Maldives. We could go on about the fact the country is made up of thousands of coral islands, that it has some of the world's best kept reefs, or that it is possible to do any water sports you like there. But we think it would be best for you to find out for yourself. Ari Atoll could easily be one of the Top 3 fascinating destinations to go to around the planet and Hulhumale is an idyllic place to forget who you are and decide to 'forget' to go back home. But there is a place that is different to all the others and that is Vadhoo Island. This islet is the venue of one of the strangest natural phenomena you'll ever see: marine bioluminescence. Just sit in the sand, put your favourite music on and wait for the sea to put on a light show. It's unbelievable!
